Pam Schrock

Spanish

Sra. Schrock is originally from Kalamazoo, MI, but lived in Illinois and Iowa (and taught in both of those states) prior to returning to Michigan. She has been married to her husband, Greg, for almost 32 years. They have two adult children, David (a public safety officer for Kalamazoo) married to Leah, and Kathryn (who works for the DOD as an analyst). Mrs. Schrock is also on staff part-time with SHARE Education Services—an organization that helps missionaries in hard to serve areas (Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa) stay on the field by supporting them in the education of their children. She takes 2-3 trips overseas each year in her work for SHARE.

Sra. Schrock has been at GCS since January 2020. She teaches preschool through middle school Spanish, and loves her time at GCS! She shared, “I thank God for the opportunity to work at GCS. In my wildest dreams, I never thought I’d be back in the classroom in my 50’s. God, in His wisdom, knew I needed GCS as much as GCS needed me! This school truly is a family. The faculty and staff truly love the students and desire God’s best for them. It is a gift to work here!”

Job Description:

Sra. Schrock’s goal in teaching elementary Spanish is to keep language learning as natural as possible. She plays lots of games and does activity based learning. Starting in second grade, students begin Interactive Spanish Notebooks that they add to each year. The end goal is that by the time they reach high school, formal language learning will not be such a chore, but will build upon the base given in the early elementary years.
